Wednesday's Words of Encouragement #21 Taking Responsibility for your *uckUps!!

Learning to take responsibility for your not-so-good actions is a very rewarding part of maturity. It’s kinda like one of those feelings that is strangely satisfying, like turning down a slice of cheesecake because you are on a diet. At the time, you’re thinking, “what is wrong with me? I want it, so I should eat it!” But, hours later you go to bed feeling light and are suddenly so thankful for your decision!

I’m experiencing a lot of this type of realization right now, because when getting to know someone, you often learn a lot about yourself. One thing I am learning about myself is that sometimes the way I speak or tone I speak in, opens up a large window for misinterpretation and hurt feelings. I don’t mean for my choice of words like “jackass” to offend someone, because I’m saying it in a casual manner. But, when I blurt it out and apply a heavily sarcastic tone to it, it is most certainly taken out of context!

So, when I’m seeing a person get upset and/or expressing why I offended them, I am definitely listening wholeheartedly…and suggesting you should too. After all, if you don’t have any clue how people perceive you, then you really don’t know yourself too well. I say that because we do not live in this world alone and “the way you act” is really only perceived by others and your opinion of yourself can't get you much love.

So, take some time to figure out how people react to your words and actions, take responsibility for the confusion or mistakes you make, and from there...become a better person.  What do you think???

Wednesday's Words of Encouragement WWE: Do you need a reality check?

There are so many important things to focus on this day n age and I'm finding that many people are not even recognizing their self-centeredness, vanity and lack of consideration for the real issues and problems of our city, our society, our world.

We are supposed to be interested in our societies issues, we should care about our health and we are not supposed to self-indulge and talk about ourselves every chance we get.

While analyzing this realization, I came up with 5 sure tell signs to realize that your life is in desperate need of a reality check!!! Here it is:

1. You've uttered the words "Charlie Sheen" more than three times in five days.
2. You've had a discussion about the latest episode of Jersey Shore.
3. You recently littered and didn't give a damn.
4. You've posted a picture of just yourself in the last week.
5. You can't remember the last time you shut your mouth and just listened to a friend.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little reminder and a little change.
And it's okay to get off track every now and then, as long as you recognize it and get back on immediately!
Hope this helps you out. Lord knows some of ya'll need it!!!!

PeaceNLove always...as I'm just trying to help myself and others out!

WWE: The Life Lesson I Learned, While Digging in My Purse

So I uncharacteristically (okay, sorta uncharacteristically) locked myself out of my apartment this a.m.

Luckily, my landlords are far to kind and are on their way to unlock my door. I'm a good tenant, what can I say.

Anyway, I decided to walk up the street to the local market for something to drink, and totally had an epiphany! I was digging in my purse for a mint and noticed that despite all the compartments my purse offered, my purse contents were completely unorganized and in none of the many pouches perfectly created to make my life easier!

It made me think, I wonder what other ways I am failing to use resources easily available to me, resources designed to make my life simpler.

I'm on a quest to ponder this thought for the next week and see if I can recognize and commit to utilizing all the parts of life that can improve mine. Would you be interested in doing the same?

Also, how do you like my purse-pocket analogy? Do thoughts like this ever pop up in any of your minds? Please comment below and don't forget to utilize.

WWE # IDK "Do you want to be the best person you know?"

Here is an exercise I developed when I realized one day that I want to be the best person I know. Doesn't mean I want to be the richest or the most beautiful, but I want to be most proud of myself, not anyone else.

So, I got to thinking about all the people in my life that I admire and their specific qualities that I wish to have and realized that I too, am capable of embodying those qualities.

I AM capable of being extremely thoughtful and considerate.

I AM capable of being unselfish and helpful to strangers.

I CAN make my friends laugh when they are at their lowest point and make them feel better.

I CAN be the hardest worker I know (or at least a VERY hard worker) and I CAN strive to live out my dreams.

I CAN stand up for myself when necessary, but allow the small things to slide when necessary.

I CAN voice my opinion, yet know when to quiet it.

I CAN know my worth and never allow myself to settle for something less than I deserve.

I CAN eat healthy and exercise regularly.

I AM capable of picking up litter on the beach once a month.

I CAN be a positive force in my community.

I CAN do good deeds, just because they need to be done.

I AM capable of reducing my judgements.

I CAN do things I don't want to do, if they're the right thing to do.

I CAN be the change I want to see in the world. That one living out for my friend Ghandi.

So, can you be the best person you know, as well? I believe you can. But you have to recognize the qualities that will make you the best person you know, and you have to work on embodying those. It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it. I dare you to try.

With peace, love and positive energy...mollymoll signs out.

WWE #11...Emotions Change...as do We

The interesting thing about our emotions is that they are constantly changing, right?

I may wake up on a Monday feeling low about an incident that occurred over the weekend, and still upset on Tuesday. But if I stay focused on regaining positivity, and either forgetting about the issue or working on fixing it (whichever is necessary) then by Wednesday or Thursday, I’m excited and ready to make the upcoming weekend better then the last.

I keep this in mind as a reminder that my spirit will improve, during those days when it is unsatisfactory. Although it doesn’t immediately alter my mood, it does prevent me from feeling worse and definitely motivates me to move forward.

Keep this in your mind as well, and those bad days will become less and less.

Lotsa love…..stay positive.....smile.

How I've improved myself and what the implications are

Lately I have been paying close attention to the way people react to me in efforts to improve my being so I can love the woman I’ve become. I’ve realized that using other people’s perspective’s as a judgment for myself is a unique way to get to know me and grow me. It has helped me pay attention to the words and tones that come out my mouth as I focus on the reactions from my peers and also their responses. This, in turn, helps other people learn to love me and that is just plain amazing. Let me further explain my theory…

Sometimes, you may think what you are saying makes sense or perhaps you talk without thinking often and then become misunderstood and/or confused about why people have reacted negatively. But, when you focus on the specific manner of your speech and words, you really began to notice details about your character, the good and the bad. This helps you grow and learn more about how you act and those you surround yourself with.

See, as you pay attention to the communication in your life, it is easy to understand and convey your thoughts appropriately. This leads to a better form of communication on all levels and we all know how useful it is to have good communication skills.

Since practicing this idea of being morally conscious and aware of who I am and how I am received, I am proud to say that my responses from others seems to be very positive. This optimism I’ve been noticing has really given me the confidence to believe in myself and strive to discover my dreams.

I use the word “discover” because my goals and ideas of what it means to live out my “dreams” has never been a clear thought. I have many passions and can imagine being successful in multiple areas of business. I also am continuing to evolve and gaining interest in many more things as I grow older so my options are appearing even more endless.

I love working with children and can be a very positive influence on children/young adults of all ages. I have learned this through the substitute teaching I have been doing full-time for 3 months and from the work I’ve done with children in the past. I seem to have a very acute sense for finding a way to relate to many different types of personality/lifestyles/educational levels. Most students, even the troublemakers, have seemed to respond pretty well to me overall.

I am also very interested in fashion and have been for as long as I can remember. I have been complimented and commended for my style for years now and I can imagine myself in retail, then working my way up to a buyer position for one of my favorite departments stores like Macys, for example. I also think I would be a great manager because I know I am easy to approach, enjoy finding strengths in others and am a very hard worker.

Then there’s my writing passion, which I followed throughout college, earned a journalism degree and have envisioned myself doing since first grade. I love being involved with the media and really believe that my idea of ‘journalism” is idealistic, positive and moves away from the mundane pattern we’re so used to seeing. I want to conduct interviews, highlight special events, travel the world and tell people about it, take pictures and write captions and maybe even review a major fashion show.

I also would love to work with an environmental group, perhaps teaching business and individuals how to recycle and move into a “green” lifestyle. I am passionate about treating and caring for this Earth and I would find great joy in knowing I am making a difference in savoring this beautiful planet.

Have I mentioned radio? I would love to be a radio personality. I even have experience and have such a passion for music but really want to open up the ears of radio listeners to music that isn’t “popular.”

Music, music, music. My biggest passion overall. Maybe I can find a way to introduce all these thoughts into some career surrounding music. I could be a radio deejay that interviews musicians, continue to update listeners on all things green and travels the world giving speeches to students about recycling, then writing articles about those experiences.

?????????????????????????????

Anyways, I just wanted to share my idea that has lead to so many others ideas and maybe I’ll get some feedback to help me make some decisions.
