Wednesday's Words of Encouragement #21 Taking Responsibility for your *uckUps!!

Learning to take responsibility for your not-so-good actions is a very rewarding part of maturity. It’s kinda like one of those feelings that is strangely satisfying, like turning down a slice of cheesecake because you are on a diet. At the time, you’re thinking, “what is wrong with me? I want it, so I should eat it!” But, hours later you go to bed feeling light and are suddenly so thankful for your decision!

I’m experiencing a lot of this type of realization right now, because when getting to know someone, you often learn a lot about yourself. One thing I am learning about myself is that sometimes the way I speak or tone I speak in, opens up a large window for misinterpretation and hurt feelings. I don’t mean for my choice of words like “jackass” to offend someone, because I’m saying it in a casual manner. But, when I blurt it out and apply a heavily sarcastic tone to it, it is most certainly taken out of context!

So, when I’m seeing a person get upset and/or expressing why I offended them, I am definitely listening wholeheartedly…and suggesting you should too. After all, if you don’t have any clue how people perceive you, then you really don’t know yourself too well. I say that because we do not live in this world alone and “the way you act” is really only perceived by others and your opinion of yourself can't get you much love.

So, take some time to figure out how people react to your words and actions, take responsibility for the confusion or mistakes you make, and from there...become a better person.  What do you think???

Wednesday's Words of Encouragement-If She Can Do It, So Can You!

She is both marvelous and modest, two qualities not usually occupied by a young woman. She is someone who cares more about others than herself, caters to her friends and family more than she has time too and runs a successful insurance business based off the idea of helping others save money while being protected, in an industry known to nickle and dime clients.

And recently, Ms. Litda Phu founded her own non-profit organization dedicated to providing life's necessities for the saddening homeless population in Southern California. The organization is called Help Us Help People and you can read more about it and donate at http://helpushelppeople.org/.

I am a part-time employee, sometimes personal assistant and have grown to be a great friend of Litda's in the last few months and there are so many positive things to say, I had to dedicate a WWE to brag about her.
Litda possesses a remarkable enthusiasm to do right, influence and improve others lives. She also uses admirable go-getter business tactics and carries a very charming personality. She has made a big impression on me, in terms of accomplishments and work ethic, and definitely improved certain perspectives of my life.

I'd love to go on about how I met her (through her equally beautiful sister Jane-which will be a WWE topic soon) and how I began working with her, but for time's sake, I just want you to trust me on this one when I ask you to please donate to her new organization.

She doesn't have the time, but is making it to help others. She doesn't have tons of spare money to fund this project, but will if she has to. And finally, she didn't need to start this organization, but did because she believes that helping others less fortunate than herself is the only way to really live a deserving and fulfilling life.

So please log onto www.helpushelppeople.org (website still slightly under construction) and make a donation or send a check her way. The donations will go towards funding monthly hygienic kits for homeless living in OC and LA county, or towards backpack donations for homeless children.

I'm asking because I care about her so much and want her to feel the success of all her hard work to start this organization. You can also ask me any questions about where to send a donation.

Peace, Love and Helping Others.....

Trust me, it is worth it.

Wednesday's Words of Encouragement WWE: Do you need a reality check?

There are so many important things to focus on this day n age and I'm finding that many people are not even recognizing their self-centeredness, vanity and lack of consideration for the real issues and problems of our city, our society, our world.

We are supposed to be interested in our societies issues, we should care about our health and we are not supposed to self-indulge and talk about ourselves every chance we get.

While analyzing this realization, I came up with 5 sure tell signs to realize that your life is in desperate need of a reality check!!! Here it is:

1. You've uttered the words "Charlie Sheen" more than three times in five days.
2. You've had a discussion about the latest episode of Jersey Shore.
3. You recently littered and didn't give a damn.
4. You've posted a picture of just yourself in the last week.
5. You can't remember the last time you shut your mouth and just listened to a friend.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little reminder and a little change.
And it's okay to get off track every now and then, as long as you recognize it and get back on immediately!
Hope this helps you out. Lord knows some of ya'll need it!!!!

PeaceNLove always...as I'm just trying to help myself and others out!
